[Konvas] buying a 2-perf camera. finally! or renting one for the moment

hi guys and gals from the konvas mailing list

my associate and i are prepping for a short film shot in hong kong
next week (15th 16th 17th) of august, which we want to shoot of
2-perf, somehow!

as we are in austria, vienna right now, we've been trying to contact
as many people as possible in order to get our camera, we don't want
to back off and switch to s16, we want to make it happen on 2-perf!

so far, we've been to arri austria, who said that they have no arricam
LTs with 2perf at their house, especially at such a short term they
could only rent us a modified 235 which would be toooo expensive (700
euro, 1300 usd a day!)
and suggested us to take the 4-perf road and buy more filmstock (nice
way to support the future eh)

we've talked to anders who - we understand that very well - hesitates
in renting us the camera, because we've never before handled a kinor
and he had quite a bad experience with a project in germany (hope i
didnt understand that wrongly), but it's still a possibility!

we've talked to bruce taylor who also is trying to make this work as
well, a bit of a problem with that is insurance of course and shipping
from USA to hong kong

we also talked to bruce in australia, the problem with his cameras is
also shipping, and they don't have video tap which would take too much
money to install and he also couldn't modify the camera to pl mount at
such a short notice

so i just wanted to ask if anybody by chance is going to sell one of
his sync 2perf cameras soon? the best would be together with a set of
lenses of course :)

we want to invest into the future, but not with buying a red camera
(which i personally don't like at all), but with buying a 2-perf
camera and trying to realize as many film projects on film as
possible!!
