[Konvas] buying a 2-perf camera. finally! or renting one for the moment

HW,
I don't think you're a radical old grouch in what you're saying - I
whole-heartedly agree that shooting a feature with an unfamiliar camera
would be a nightmare...

BUT, I believe XiaoSu is shooting a 3-day short film, which would make
more sense, although I still think the camera would have to be tested
with a few cans of footage to figure out what what problems they will
run into before they get onto the real shoot.

As for the 4-perf vs 2-perf dilemma, XiaoSu, if neither Bruce nor Anders
can get a 2-perf camera to you before your shooting date, you can easily
find recan/shortends that are fairly low cost (sometimes as low as 1/4
of the price of fresh raw stock, depending on lengths). Run the numbers,
you might be well surprised that shooting 4-perf is more affordable than
you think.

Hasta Luego!
btw: I'm still in Spain, currently in the beautiful city of Salamanca.
Anyone need any pictures before I leave? ;-)
