hi freya, thanks for all the informations
we just shot a test of our material here since it's quite old short
ends, recans and not used stuff from "beaufort" actually
so that was why it was 150ft only :)
we got the quote for 6x400ft rolls, that was fine but very expensive as said...
probably we won't have a film print at the end, but it's good to have
the 4perf for that if necessary!
yeah, it's all night, we've worked on lots of night shoots already
with our letus35extreme, it's only a 35mm adapter of course, but
still... we had to lit for iso 100 etc.
we also have experience on 16mm night shooting, so that's going to
come handy i guess, we are still looking for a good 1st ac in hong
kong, that would be very good as well :)
we are shooting all interiors mostly, a few shots out of the car
perhaps in hk urban area using all those lights :) excited about that
already
we will take this challenge because the directors definately want to
go with 35mm as well, and we've not have had the opportunity for that
yet... we gotta use this chance
thanks for all the input, it's like film school a bit now! just kidding
regards from vienna, xax

> Well for starters with HD you don't make a print at all so that is a massive cost saving. Also even 2k DI is usually done on specialised and expensive scanners instead of the normal telecine machines, tho there are now a few telecine machines capable of 2k resolution. There are of course 4k and 8k DI's which are super super expensive. Theres a massive saving by not making a print at all tho.
