[Konvas] Kinor 35mm question?

I am puzzled! Anders/Bruce
Somebody recently said, I cannot remember who it was, that a 2 perf Kinor
35mm runs at half speed therefore it is much quieter. I do acknowledge that the
mags are running at half speed but the motor and shuttle/pull down claw are
surely running roughly at the same speed as before. Perhaps I have got this
wrong.
During conversion, are there any major engineering improvements made to the
camera to improve its performance perhaps sealed roller bearings to reduce
maintenance lube interval times etc.
Also has anyone done any decibel tests to confirm if it is quieter.
I am still considering whether to buy a couple of 2 perf conversion units.
I will be going T2's way but also looking at 35mm imaging and costs. I am
convinced that HDV and 35mm will always run side by side within the film
industry for the next 10-15 years and that S16mm TV production will die over the
next 5 years. A British and German Lab are formulating a new company to
manufacture and process a 'new breed' of 35mm film stock to fill the gap when Kodak
start to reduce its European operation. I understand that Fuji has also just
purchased a large building plot in the UK to secure its future but unsure for
what purpose! Awaiting their press release.
Sorry about the questions but has anybody had any ideas on improving the
Konvas 2M if it needs improving. I know there are issues with the viewfinder etc
but how about the reliability and perhaps a new motor to make it future
proof. Anybody got a 2 perf Konvas yet?
Many thanks Rita.
