I sounds quite good for short projects. Even for a 16mm branch there
is a soultion. It is called a tiffcine. A small program that cuts a
strip scan into individual frames using a perforation pattern
recognition. And this makes possible to use flatbed scanners. More
info on google, like always.
I am preparing now a project of utilising a Plustek Opticfilm 7200
scanner and some software and stepping motor and one of my
Kinor16CX-2m fim transport mechanism to make a low speed true
scanning machine with pin registered scans. Since plustek allows to
get 7200 dpi and gives you door to door service ALL ( ha ha and only)
I need to do is to design and built an adapter for film movement that
will fit the scanner and will not destroy it.
so... there is another world :)
best regards
Pawel from Poland
