Exactly.  That's why I was able to intercut digital and film with  success... 
because I know I am never going to be the weak link in the "viewing  chain."  
 With very very VERY rare exceptions, our monitors are going  to be vastly 
superior to the sets people at home are viewing our productions  on.  And the 
cable system or broadcast signal is never going to be  able to hold a candle to 
the direct HD-SDI monitoring that we go by in the  edit suites.  Ergo, if I am 
able to intercut the footage and not be  able to see the difference in 
studio, my mom watching on her TV at home  certainly isn't.
 
As I said, I might not do it for a feature film, but have done it for TV  
with no trouble.
