oh, and one other thing.. I fiddled with motor control on my Arri 2C 
once.  It seems that the consensus when it comes to time-lapse work on 
those cameras is that you really need a capping shutter of some sort.  
There is apparently enough light bounce around the shutter cavity that 
it will leak light slowly and start exposing your frame.  Some sort of 
mechanical shutter in front of the lens may be required to block out all 
light.
