HAHCH! Just for showwink vhat YOU are knowink, Miss Smartsy Pents!
Em using genuine Interocitor, vhich I em pickink up at Mockba garadge sale
for rilly chip bekosz I hed to put silly t'ing together! Vherk so much
betters den foolish Kepitalist "lepton accelerator." SO much nicer gless
vhat komink from Kohoutek Komet et lest flyby, and exploits Ley Lines of
Earth for enhansink line pair duplicity. And many, many other t'inks you
are not QVHAHLified for understendink!
Again, PFUI ! End two more, bekause you are flinchink - I em seeink det!
We now return you to regular programming...
Rick
Seriously, further to the comment from HW about where a given photographic
item is really physically made, considering the microtechnologies involved,
considering the filthy toxic chemicals involved, I am highly suspicious that
most sensors are really made in one of (I'll pick a number) about only 12
factories on the planet equipped to do this. Making the "we make our own
sensors" a good candidate for the "swamp gas" file. Consider also the HUGE
probable outfall of chips the size of the one for the Epic because of dud
pixels and other problems. Naaah, this takes SERIOUS manufacturing knowhow
in extremely specialized areas, and I don't believe it's that common. I
could be wrong (it happened once: I thought I'd made a mistake, but I
hadn't...) but my guess is RED sends the specs to the aliens' UltraSecret
Factory in Sheboygan, MI, who make the chips and brand them as directed. Is
vhat I am thinkink! Either that, or they lucked into finding some sensors
made for the satellite/security/some other industry, and put their stickers
on 'em.
The Swamp Gas theory is apparently amazingly effective in the field among
the Great Unwashed. Three days ago, I swear, a Person working
professionally in my seething metropolis "explained" to me most solemnly
that the reason the RED has cinema-style depth of field is that the sensor
has thickness, just like film emulsion. I only barely managed to suppress
what I think the medical community would call a "conniption fit" and managed
to just smile and nod. Clearly, the agenda for dumbing ... no, STUPIDing,
IDIOTing down a generation of film people is well ahead of schedule. Why am
I not shocked some video folk are leading the charge?
Back to "where things are made.." - the famous Leitz 50mm Summicron is
actually made in a wonderfully unlabelled building in the Kingdom of
Ontario, Canada. Home to Toronto, the actual center of the Universe....just
ask Torontonians: they'll confirm it...

"use an inverse lepton accelerator to make the glass"
Could't find one on Ebay so have to asked Capt Kirk if I could use his.
I bet 'RICK' uses one for his time lapse!
