[Konvas] DIY battery pack (off-topic)

Adam,
The cells probably took about an hour to solder all together.  The 
electronics are quite simple, and probably took another hour or two.  
It's the metalwork that ate up all the time.. several hours of cutting 
square holes with a dremel and drilling and tapping for screws (around 
20).  To anyone trying to do something similar, I'd say ignore the 
cinepower d-pack chassis design entirely, and just throw everything in a 
plastic box :)
