If you take a good look at both the Cameflex and the Konvas, you'll see
that they look quite different. The ideas behind the original Konvas
were probably loosely based on the ideas of the Cameflex, but I think
that generation of camera builders were taking ideas from and building
upon designs of other manufacturers. Probably just as in the Automobile
industry, where it was fairly common to see similar designs (it sure
seemed like the automobile industry "borrowed" each others ideas on a
routine basis, although they often built upon them).
Btw: anyone own a Cameflex? How about an Arri, Aaton, or Moviecam? If
so, please send me a few pics so I can post them on konvas.org.
Also, for those interested in the Moviecam:

It has the company history, pictures, etc. Looking at the gallery, a
Moviecam SuperAmerica was used to shoot the movie "Desperately Seeking
Susan".

Olivier, here's a 16mm Chinese camera (see attached photos), as sent to
Patrick Steele by Zhang Xiaokang (for inclusion on commiecam.com). From
the info I have, it's electric driven and also shoots 6-144 fps.
Apparently, there's also a 35mm camera called the Heping - check out
this page with a lot of pics of Chinese made cameras (both still and
Cine - cine at the bottom):

At the very bottom of the page, the very last picture looks a lot like
the original Arriflex, doesn't it? (the two pics above it look a lot
like a 16mm bolex knockoff...).
