Yep.
The deal with both the Konvas and the Eclair CM3 is that half the film transport system is in the mags, hence the requirement of being gear driven.
With the Mitchell or Kinor where the mag is essentially a dumb cannister to hold the film, other than enough torque to keep the film wound tight, there isn't the need for any more precision than that.
Peter, I have only heard of one other 2 Perf XR-35 that was owned by the Edgewood Studio people. Quite the rare bird. Do you shoot with it? You have probably come across Paul Bruening with his Frankenmitchell (Mitchell/Fries/Aranda) 2 perf. I've got to check out his 2 perf scan rig one of these days.
