[Konvas] Storing exposed film

Ole,
I have a funny story about how long exposed film can keep:

During my training in 1988, while I was in the Air Force, my roommate
and I took an entire roll of pictures one day with my camera. Just the
usual stuff: me, my roommate, a few of the guys in the hallway, a few of
the pretty girls upstairs, etc.

Then I somehow shoved the undeveloped film in a box, and went off to
more military assignments and eventually finished my tour in the Air Force.

So, almost 4 years had went by before I opened up the box and, sure
enough, there was that roll of film. Not thinking that there would be an
image on it, as it was not kept in proper storage (namely a box in the
attic), I took it in and had the local 1-hour store develop it (meaning
no special processing) just to see if there was any images left...

The pictures came out perfectly (well, the ones we shot perfectly
anyway). Actually, you could say they were a little *too* perfect, as
you couldn't see any love-handles (maybe I'd bought a camera with a
slimming lens? *ahem* ;-)

I'd have never thought that exposed film would last that long and come
out looking even remotely good, but it did - the colors were perfect,
there was no noticeable grain (or blue-ing), and there was no image fade.

I scanned in and attached a photo with me sitting on the night-stand so
you could see for yourself.

Since we were inside, the camera used a flash (btw: notice those
extremely well polished black boots). It must have been dark out, since
there's a flashlight sitting beside me that's on (bottom right of the
picture). Also, you can't make it out very well (I didn't want to send
out too high of a resolution image), but I've got an unlit cigarette in
my mouth and the pack of cigs beside me clearly says "Winston" on the
original picture (yes, I used to smoke back then). Again, it's not high
enough resolution, but in the original picture, you can also see the
pictures and writing on the wall behind me in detail...

Jeeze - I just realized that picture was taken almost exactly 20 years ago!
