Titanium flexes too much in response to camera vibration, the same problem magnesium has.? Leaded bronze has the least vibration problem, btw, but lacks strength.? Phosphor bronze is very good-- but costs top dollar and weighs a lot.
Weight matters if you are hand holding, which is why the hollow steel tubes showed up-- cut the weight by one half, supposedly the same strength.
If you are on a tripod, crane, et cetera, the weight is an advantage in keeping the picture smooth, and the greater the weight the less movement the same amount of vibration energy produces.
