Agreed.
Before I fixed it with Combustion, it was apparent in the Hunting
Dragonflies footage because NTSC (in my case it was the DigiBeta format)
only has 720x486 lines of resolution, unlike the sharper HD resolutions.
It was noticeable along straight lines (like fences and telephone
wires) that were slightly slanted or tilted as compared to the frame.
For instance, let's say a telephone wire runs from the left between the
horizontal lines #320 and #326 to the right between lines #354 and #360.
It will cause quite a noticeable bouncing, jagged edge issue if the
camera is slightly shaken or bumped, like when the camera operator is
holding onto the camera and shivering at the same time...
Parts of the telephone wire on the left will start bouncing between the
horizontal lines #319 and #330 and to the right between lines #350 and
#365. May not sound like much, but instead of a telephone wire, you will
see what looks like jagged blocky lines that keep bouncing on your screen...
It doesn't matter if the footage is shot with a Konvas or a minidv
camera, if the footage is captured or transferred to something like
480p24 NTSC, the above issue is definitely more noticeable than if it
was shot in or transferred to 1080p24 High Definition or 2K...
