[Konvas] Strange "flicker" in Telecine Footage

The result you show depends on how the actual transfer was done, but there is a frame rate change between cine projection speeds and DV frame rates-- and, unless you shot 30fps to shoot a transfer to 30p, the 3:2 pulldown issue raises its head if the software conversion is not done right, the gear is even a quarter of a percent off exact, or the operator is less than perfectly skilled.? I would sit down with the lab and explain you were given a defective transfer, and you need a good transfer done properly.

That should be done on their dime.

Subject: [Konvas] Strange "flicker" in Telecine Footage

hi, last month we shot a short film on 35mm and had it HD telecine'd
to HDCAM SR tapes at the shaw brothers studios

now i see a strange flicker in the footage, does anybody have any
information about that or experiences what it could be?

we shot in 24 fps, 12 and 32 fps, and it's in every footage, it's in
the footage from old material we brought and new material we bought
there...

we almost narrowed it down to the telecine transfer since we had
rushes/dailies and there was nothing on them

here's a clip http://dedicated13.nessus.at/testmore.mov

i posted the same question on cinematography.com but nobody could help

thanks for any help provided
