Samson produce incredible value for money radio mics especially if match to  
Audio -Technica transducers and will produce great results in most  situations.
 
Senheisser radio packs at $10,000 a set will run for 18 hours a day for 5  
years non-stop and will re-sell at
$5,000-$6,000 in 5 years time so its a matter of performance against  
economics. I also have some Transtec's which have been running for 10  years albeit 
for only 10 hours a week and only cost $500.00 a  pair secondhand and are 
extremely tolerent to radio frequency interference.  So in principle cheaper 
equipment can achieve the same results,
 
When they pay you $1200.00 a day plus expenses they do expect the best  there 
is although they would'nt know if it is good or bad until it fails then  
there would be know more work.
 
If you strive for outstanding images then great sound should support  them.
 
Just my theory anyway.  It is true though,cheaper equipment can  produce 
great results.
