Hi All , reading the message about exposure ....

Just my 2 cents experience like DP ... and i shoot a lot of feets per week ...

I have exposed films outdated of 20 years .... i first do a small test in a Nikon slr .... so i can determine the new sensitivity
for exemple an ORWO BW film "process before 1987 ..... of 100 ASA , i finnish expose it at 6 ASA Daylight !: BUT IT WORK !!!!

Other ways ....

Sometimes : i over-expose 1 1/2 stop the neg and Pull process One stop (this reduce contrast a little bit ...)
Sometimes i Under-expose 1 or 2 stop and Push process (this is called "pushing" ) so you can have 1000 or 2000 ASA with Vision3 500T !
so i take the emulsion like 1000 ASA (when it is 500ASA) and expose it like 1000 ASA ....

I have done too Cross Process : with reversal 16mm processed in Negative chemical (in this case i Overexpose 1/2 stop)

remember the comercial of the Birth of a Junky Child .... ???? i place the youtube link to the group ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auBf8Wf_RZM

this was 500 ASA Bleach bypass and push one stop : total 1600 ASA in my lightmeter ....(1 stop for 1000 asa and 2/3 for the BBP process)

CONCLUSION : ASA indice is a reference ..... many thinks can be done ...

Just for the Histroy : i do 23 years ago my Filmschool tesis about : ALL film emulsion NEVER used to shoot .... I have done Keylights , and regular prints of ALL
Laboratories Emulsions, like Interpositive, Internegatives, Dubs Pos, Dubs, Negs , Hi contrast, Soundfilms , ST8 , Key Films , etc, etc .... around 60 stranges films you cannot find in the Kodak clients lists films for shootings, somes had 12 asa, somes had1 ASA !!! but all give me amazing images !!!!

BEST, Olivier .

Subject: Re: [Konvas] OT - radio mics

"True audiophiles (like Rita!) would probably cringe at these"

Samson produce incredible value for money radio mics especially if match to Audio -Technica transducers and will produce great results in most situations.

Senheisser radio packs at $10,000 a set will run for 18 hours a day for 5 years non-stop and will re-sell at
$5,000-$6,000 in 5 years time so its a matter of performance against economics. I also have some Transtec's which have been running for 10 years albeit for only 10 hours a week and only cost $500.00 a pair secondhand and are extremely tolerent to radio frequency interference. So in principle cheaper equipment can achieve the same results,

When they pay you $1200.00 a day plus expenses they do expect the best there is although they would'nt know if it is good or bad until it fails then there would be know more work.

If you strive for outstanding images then great sound should support them.

Just my theory anyway. It is true though, cheaper equipment can produce great results.

  Rita
