"Usually there is a dot where you line the arrow up on the film leader"

Yes, you are right. I have two red dots on the film guide inside the back of
the camera. I lined these up with the arrows on the film backing. My frame
counter stopped at 8 and then displayed the letter "K"? so I carried on and
counter 12 then their was still resistance on the film advance winder so I
carried on and got 14 shots but the lab made holes in the front and back frames
during the E6 process. The last frame 13 overlapped with frame 12 by 1/2 inch.
After frame 14 the winders tension eased off. The medium format forum states
that you should use Fuji spools as they are wider and have more torque!

Now I am wondering what the "K" means in the frame counter, assume it means
finished but after 8 frames?
Also where should the frames numbers be situated in the top of the exposed
film, on the left, the middle or the right? There should be an indicator to
tell whether the left hand spool is rotating like the old Praktica's etc. There
are two light sensors in the prism which light up two red lights but every
time I used it I got a reading of 1,000 second at F11 100 ASA when it should
be around 1/250 sec. I surpose I will have to buy another prism to get the
meter working which cost as much as a new camera. A New York dealer is selling
these cameras with lens and bag at $105.00 New or the Kiev 88 at $140.00. So
could be worth it just for the lens. I have just handled a Pentax 645 and it
is so comfortable and extremely well made.

Anybody know what the best 10MP camera/lens around going cheapish.

I will pursue the 120 format even if it means upgrading to a more modern
type camera. I do like the Mamiya's SLR's. I have to trust a camera first before
I make it smoke.

Rita (a 10mp Minox 110 type camera would be nice)
