Thanks for the reply Adam.  I did not see it in my email, I found it looking at the threads in the Konvas.org site?  I don't know what happened.

 I did open the panel of one of my 5 "200ft" :-P, mags,
which are supposed to be good for spare parts (and little
else) to check it out.  It has residue of thick white
grease in there.  I'm not shooting with the 200's too
much But I guess I'll get rid of the same grease in the
400's.  The gears are smooth in a viscuous way (when I
disengage the latch), but not as free flowing as I remember
the Arri Mags in class.  I guess that's because the grease is older than it should be.

 My roommate is a gun collector and this was his thickest gun grease:

What do you think about using that?
 
 I will Email Steve Larson too,  because I don't understand how
 to get at the ball bearings for the rollers, just the main
 gears under the plate.
