Olivier .
Just back from the wilds of Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia on
Canada's we(s)t coast. Spring is running about 3 weeks late. I get home to
Calgary to find we've added another 60cm of new snow in the past week....
Olivier, you might try searching various machine parts suppliers. Boston
Gear has a catalog over 2cm thick with thousands of bushings,
bearings, gears, toothed pulleys and belts in all sorts of shapes, sizes,
sexes, ages and weights, along with various associated mounting hardware.
You might also consider visiting your friendly local office supply repair
folks. If you go inside the gutty-wuts (movie reference: cheap prizes for
identifying the film that term appears in...) of things like photocopiers,
scanners, and the like, you can find all sorts of toothed belts, obviously
matched to the (usually nylon) pulleys they run. Some of them, often on
things like collators for photocopiers, can be surprisingly heavy-duty.
Odds are fair-to-good you can find something that may be made to fit your
lens pair if you are friendly with someone who has a lathe.
Congratulations on your 3D experiments! I'm very, very interested in seeing
any results and notes you post online!
Cheers to all,
Rick (still looking for spring!) Garbutt, soc
