Hmmm...

I've only seen FULL METAL JACKET once. Basic training for infantry at Fort Benning was nowhere near as... um... uncomfortable as shown in FMJ. And ammunition and personal weapons were kept under tighter control.

I've never seen BARRY LYNDON and I avoid the horror genre like the plague So I've never sat through THE SHINING.

In my opinion 2001 should only be seen in a theater on a big screen. 

Last year the Heights Theater in Columbia Heights, a suburb of Minneapolis, ran 2001 as part of special program. They started the program with an old interview of Keir Dullea by a (long deceased) local independent TV station personality. Then they ran 2001 followed by 2010.

Oh, the owners of the theater also own the Dairy Queen next door so you could bring in food from there and they also had free refills on soft drinks.

So what do you think of the theory that the image of the black screen shown during the overture and the intermission is really an image of the monolith?
