He used a BNC quite a bit on on 'A Clockwork Orange', actually bought one for the movie and later modified it for the f/0.7 Zeisses for 'Barry Lyndon'.  
Somewhere I might still have a production still of shooting the deleted pie fight from 'Dr.Strangelove' which shows a BNC and a BLIMPED Mitchell being used behind a sheet of glass.  Alas, I can't recall if it was a Newall or a Raby blimp.

Since Panavision was rental only, they only used it for 65mm cameras for '2001'.
