It is very interesting to read this fun book. And then watch the first el mariachi, and then the second, and then the third, and note the differences n production. Lighting also very interesting on the first - all done with minimal equipment. real guerilla filmaking with real film. cheech marin was one of the actors in the first I think. a great film. really shows the benefits of planning before each shot. some of the higher shots were shot standing on a stepladder. now i want to go out and rent it agin, for the fourth time.

I think is a great book it's like is time Robert Rodrigez do this book a bit after he made El Mariachi shot with a 16mm arri he got from a friend free to shot his film.
He used a no sync camera with tape casette... and you have all the story worst he turn to be a great filmmaker and turn is back to film and shot now in digital.Like is time.
It'a also a cheap book to buy and fun to read. After you could watch El Mariachi...
And call him he probabely accepting to speak to student.
