Olivier,
Seems to me the registration aspect should be good, as long as it's a
reputable transfer facility, and you can probably run a script to cut
the frame in half over multiple frames easily enough (probably using
either photoshop or GIMP).

So, you'll be turning your 2K scans, which are approximately 2048x1556
pixels, into 2048x778 pixels - which is probably fine for a lot of work,
including transfers to HDTV. Of course, if you're going to Standard
Definition NTSC or PAL, then it's definitely okay (btw: is Ecuador going
to be making the move to HDTV?).

For that matter, you can probably transfer the frames to 1920x1080 (in
this case transferring to a frame that is 1440x1080) and cutting that in
half for standard definition television: 1440x540, which should allow
for both NTSC and PAL resolution standards.

Do you have some footage that you've done this 4perf/2perf scan with?
I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

Cheers,
