[Konvas] Kinor 35 Batteries

Hi Everyone,

Forgive me if this has been covered ad nauseam, but I've searched the threads and have only been able to glean bits and snatches of data. 

I have two Kinor 35's and am addressing these battery issues:

Has anyone successfully found or made a compact 16v NiCd rechargeable pack that would resemble a cinema pack-i.e. without using any duct tape or a Night Rider lunch box?

Is there a thread someone could direct me to as to how an XLR modification can be made on the camera for the power source?

Is it wise to exceed 15.6v (13 x 1.2v) to say possibly 16.8v (14 x 1.2v) ?

Again, sorry if this topic has been beat to death, but I just can't seem to locate the appropriate threads.
