I have seen these lenses being advertised in India for half the price.

India is tooling up to manufacture film industry equipment and we have seen
many examples of their work over the past year. Although some of their
products have made it into the video market, there are doubts about the R&D and
quality of machining. I have tested many of their sound related products and
they do not come up to scratch. I refer to their microphone boom poles/ wind
gags/ matteboxes/ French flags/ dollies etc which are designed for the mass
market, some of whom prefer to look good rather than quality workmanship.

I do admit that some of the more established firms charge over the top
prices for their products but in the long term work out cheaper due to their high
quality and longevity.

I surpose it all depends on your budget. If you are thinking long term then
there is no substitute for the very best equipment available. You will get a
good return when you sell. These lenses are possibly Chinese made which
does'nt mean its bad, they could be great but who is going to service them with an
unknown manufacturer. Perhaps the company is not confident to stamp their
name on it, yet! May I add that a certain 'German' company makes outstanding
lenses with Zeiss glass and still do not stamp their name on it.
