[Konvas] low budget film-out (off-topic)

If you originate on DV, you won't have the dynamic range to need to 
worry about when you do your transfer. If you shoot on a Red, you'll 
come close.

You would need some sort of software that would compress the dynamic 
range into something that would fit within the gamut of a display, so 
you would need an LUT and some sort of automated control that closes the 
shutter of the camera, advances the frame on the camera, advances the 
frame on the display, and exposes the shot.

The newer huge LCDs and older CRTs would definitely display the 
resolution to do this.

I believe some individuals have done this and discussed their setups 
online. You might do some more searching.
