The source of decent lenses from the former Soviet Union has dried up.

Also, the source of decent cameras from the same.

At one point, you could get new or close to new anamorphics for $200  
per focal length. Try to find one for $1000 per focal length, these  
days.

At one point you could get a new or close to new Kinor 35 kit for  
$5000, or a new or close to new Kinor 16 kit for $800. Try to do  
that, today.

It can't be done, IMHO.
