[Konvas] Mag Jam

Thanks for the great replies. I checked the loop sizes when I opened the mag and they seemed fine. At them moment, I think it may have been Adam's scenario - that the spindle and core were turning, but the film wasn't turning with the 340 feet of film weren't turning with the core. It makes sense that the heavier load (340 ft. of film) would resist movement if the edge had come out of the core. That would actually be good news, since it's been my most reliable mag. I haven't had any trouble with mags coming unseated and feel lucky for that. Since I'm processing the film myself, I may just start gaffing the leading edge down to the take-up core.
Incidentally, before I'd realized my problem was a jam, I thought my battery had simply died, because the motor had shut off. I didn't have a multimeter on me to check it, and was already starting to pack up when it occured to me that the little fuse in the motor might have burnt out. By that point I had the mag off the camera. So I put a new fuse in and the motor ran fine. Which makes me think the whole purpose of that little fuse is to protect the motor in the event of a jam. I know that probably isn't news to anyone else here, but it was to me.
Having taken apart and cleaned all my mags now, I'd like to say that the Konvas mag's awful reputation is completely undeserved. They're easy to take apart and clean, and rumors of how dificult they are to load must have started with folks who are used to popping cartridges into their super 8 cameras. No offense to super 8, of course.
Best,
