[Konvas] Photo-Sonics 10A 70mm High Speed Camera

Also BEWARE the "10" in the model number.
My bet is this camera shoots a frame 10 perfs high, double the height of
theatrical 70mm, and likely compatable with nothing else you're likely to
own.
SAFIK, these were commonly used by folks like NASA as "all-sky" cameras,
filming things like the heavens with fisheye lenses. As this is a high
speed model, it's not improbable it shot things like rocket motors in
loving, exquisite detail for engineering analysis.
I enquired of a machinist friend about changing the
pulldown/aperture/gearing to convert it to 5-perf (or, for the sake of
argument, 8-perf, which is IWERKS) and he flatly said it would be cheaper
and less trouble to design and build a 5-perf camera from scratch.
So, even at $25, it's most likely a museum piece, and considering the
shipping costs, not much of a bargain. I could be wrong...
Best to all,
Rick Garbutt, soc
