Hi Everyone.
Looking for sound recordings of the following aircraft.
DC4/DC6/DC7 or Lockheed Constellation or any other 'radial' 4 engined
piston aircraft type.
Preferably recordings of Wright Cyclone engines or Pratt Whitney's.
Ideally looking for start up/ warm up/ taxiing/ run up/ take off. Sounds must be
isolated with no other noises if possible. Also looking for interior
sounds (cockpit and cabin) as above. Crew "chit chat" is desirable but must have
their permission first.
Recordings should be 24 bit/96hz but can accept anything less and will
consider analogue too. Small portable handheld recorders can do the job if
carefully phased but recordings must be in stereo. Can accept mono recording of
one engine starting/running. Manual gain is best but automatic gain is ok
if you are not using base cut. I have an archive collection but most old
aircraft are in mono.
I am asking the forum first as some of you live near airports where some of
these aircraft are still used as freighters or as working museum exhibits.
There is only one DC4 in the UK which is fitted out as an oil spillage
aircraft and is rarely used. There are a few of these aircraft in Europe but
again rarely started up yet alone fly.
Standard film industry fees apply and copyright protected or purchased.
Many thanks Rita
