The russian tanks are designed to process everything equally.

 From what I understand, the G3 morse tanks don't do a very good job on 
the ends of the film, but are very good for everything in-between. The 
first and last few feet don't get the same treatment as the rest of the 
film.

May not be a big deal if you waste a few feet at the beginning loading 
the film, but if you critically need those last few feet, then you may 
be screwed...
