I've had a couple of days of not answering emails, or just short notes; it seems that everything I do winds up making me sick.
Of course, some people tell me that I'm a sicko, so--
Anyway, on the Speed Panchro set.? I have always loved the look of the Cooke Speed Panchro and they handle pale skin beautifully.? I feel they are a wonderful design, and if they are in good shape they bring top dollar, but putting them into top shape, as mentioned before by someone else in this thread, is NOT cheap.? Realistically this set is not worth as much as he is asking for the condition they are in, and to do total overhauls, clean and/or replace coatings, et cetera, and then put them into another mount, be it oct19 or PL should actually run about a thousand US dollars PER LENS.?? Just a good CLA and recoat is about five hundred US per lens, and the rear design of the Cooke does not work well with adapters.? It needs to be replaced with a new, cutaway rear to clear the mirror in PL mount.
Chipping your mirror tends to be upsetting, and I have heard several BL3 users say that the Arri Standard to PL "adapter" being sold in LA that clears the mirror does not let you focus more than fifteen or twenty feet away, and if you were to run it in further to pick up infinity it makes mirror contact.? That makes lens choice interesting.
The RED users have fallen for the LOMO and the Speed Panchro beause they "look better" than the new RED glass, and are somehow "just better feeling" than the Zeiss and Schneider "newer" glass.? I talked to one girl who found a set of Rodenstock primes in Arri Standard mount, and she had used an Arri Standard to PL mount adapter, and she swears "they have more personality" than the RED zooms or any of the PL rental lenses she had tried.?? Since there is no mirror to worry about that makes life easier for the RED user.
Right now your best buy might be to look for LOMO sets, but the "take an old set for a 1m and put them into PL" movement has driven up most of those prices, too.? Use eBay search and restrict it to cameras, then use "LOMO" (doublespace) "PL" and you'll find a lot of really nice LOMO oct19 already converted, and some older LOMO converted, too.
As for the seller's attitude?? I can fully understand it.? When you have spent months trying to do things, everything goes wrong, and you are being warned that you need to do this, do that, take care of this, take care of that, and not getting paid for work done, it gets stressful.?
Really stressful.

Thanks for the info. the seller doesn't sound very convincing?or positive. Seems he has an attitude problem....I need to get rid of(dump) this stuff!? A scoundrel and scallywag..lol. Guess that says it all. Too bad, they might have been a find if in better condition. ?
