Many of those fast zoom shots were made using slower camera speeds and
looked fast when played at correct transfer speed.
'Taylor Hobson' in the 1970's made some really fast zoom's for studio TV
camera use and weighed around 20 kgs and were 4 feet long and 10 inches in
diameter but not as fast as you suggested.
I suspect the lens you are looking at will be quite loose by now and the
zoom will have "creeping" issues and probably will zoom if left on its own.
Unless, "hokey" means something different.
