Just back from a really bad session-- one note on this point.
Even at the maximum still resolution for the 7D it is lower than the resolution of the older Soviet glass, but has a "warm" feel like the older Cooke.
This helps a HUGE amount in 1080x1920/24p mastering on "other" DV bodies, and may be worth looking into. The newer Rodenstock, Schneider, Zeiss, Cooke, Canon (cine), Angenieux-- they all have slightly different looks, but have value, too.

Interesting test.
It would be nice if there was a way to mount OCT-18 lenses on the 7D. It would
probably introduce an interesting retro look to the system. Although they are
not as sharp as the newer OCT-19 lenses I think the OCT-18 glass could still
beat shooting with Canons and Nikons.
