Hi Adam,
Just joined this list again after a few years due to all the talk
about DSLRs and Lomo lenses etc. Looking at putting my Lomo primes on
my 5DmkII and a 7D (I'm yet to buy). Nice to see a few regular CML
faces :D
Have to agree about Apple computers. I've had just as many problems
with Macs as PCs over the years (I've owned 7 personally and had about
20 in total at different places I've worked). My main source of system
hangs has been After Effects which I use extensively. Often Open GL
issues completely freeze the system. Also eSata cards on laptops have
been pretty hit and miss. Obviously some of the issues are third party
drivers/hardware, but you can't avoid these no matter what platform
you're on. The one big differentiator I see is the longevity of the
mac. Most of my macs are still a useful running machine (at least for
Word & Web) after 9 years whereas most of my PCs are in the bin after
3. I still think macs are way overpriced (particularly in Australia).
Just my 2 cents worth :D
Cheers
Mike
