[Konvas] New Canon? - Ergonomics anyone

Hi Mike,
I'm not sure a 35mm would cover the 1D4. The 50mm doesn't cover the 5D2 and the 35mm vignettes horribly with a very prominent pinhole effect. The 7D will work even with the 18mm. Any particular reason you want to go with the 1D4 over the 7D if you want to use the Lomos?

I agree that the ergonomic issues disappear with well chosen accessories. My first foray into shooting handheld with the 5DmkII was a homemade shoulder rig thrown together from an old manfrotto tripod, a bit of foam to pad it, a pan handle to balance against my stomach, and an old battery belt as counterweight. The rig looked awful, but the results were pretty good, apart from a few rolling shutter artefacts and the obvious difficulties of focus pulling without a proper FF. A friend is loaning me this rig ( http://vimeo..com/7306588 ) to try out for a shoot next Monday. I'll decide what I'll buy/modify after I've used it.
My Zoom H4n for audio arrived today.
Just need one of these Marshall monitors ( http://www.lcdracks.com/monitors/V-LCD651ST-HDMI.html ) with the peaking to show focus in red, and a raw recording module and I'll be close to happy.
BTW what do you think would be the widest Lomo you could use on a 1D mkIV ? 35mm ?
Cheers
Mike
