Steve,
Even though some of us are using digital, you're still preaching to the 
choir. We WANT to shoot film, but our clients just can't afford it, 
especially right now (we're not all shooting feature films - many of us 
are shooting commercial spots and promotional films). Also, it's a lot 
harder to find good and reliable DPs and ACs that actually know how to 
work with film. And when you do find them, they usually cost more 
(luckily, you get what you pay for).

I know I've said this many times before, but we shot "Hunting 
Dragonflies" (our 35mm, 82 minute feature) with two Konvas 1M's for a 
total of $10k. So, yes: I know that it can be done. ;-)
