This? reply from Rich arrived as I was typing.
The mold is on the outside of tape around an airtight can with a black bag inside and the film hiding in that bag.
Unless you opened the cans, took the film out and put it into a mag, then took it out of the mag and recanned it, it should be fine.
snip tests are okay, but relax-- trust in the sealed metal cans

What's the current thinking when finding mould on the griptape around the edge
of a film can? Trash it? Salvageable? Is there a disinfectant? It's Kodak 5222;
the problem is that the can is with all my other film in a dedicated
refrigerator. Is it all trash now? This could hurt, about 2k worth of b/w
stock!!!?
