Don't worry about us giving up on 35mm. To me, this is just a  
replacement for other non-film options.

But I have to do something, since I have "competition" in the area  
that are still shooting SD and claiming that anything more is a joke.  
Ugh. For instance, my bid for a commercial gig last month (they asked  
me to bid to shoot on film) was turned down. I don't know all the  
details, but apparently they decided to do it in "SD video". From what  
I have been able to decipher, a competitor snagged the entire shoot  
for $1500. I am not sure how he could even hire the two actresses, pay  
a soundperson and/or other crew, get the facility, and put a dime in  
his own pocket for that measly price. How does he even pay for his  
equipment? Arrgh - it just pisses me off... [grumble, grumble]

For 2 seconds of kinda static (but handheld) Canon 7D footage I shot  
of my son this morning at the breakfast table, take a look here.  As  
I'm still getting used to the camera, it was *auto everything* at  
1080p30 - so don't judge the grain or anything else until I have time  
to play with it a little more:
