and please ask them to give you some Positive print film .too (they have color and black and white ) fuji and kodak !

.. it is 3 asa , and amazing colors results ....
i first make a 35mm still camera (35mm 8 perf) small cans , so you can make a first keylight to get sensibility relative for future exposure ....
turn around 3 asa by 1/3 stops , try daylight and tungsten .... after this try soft and contrat lighting ...
use tripod and flash light or continuous light .... so try keylight at 3 asa, and go to +5 to -5 stops .... by 1/3 , so you use 30 shots ....
ask for a print at "normal light " 25 25 25 (rgb) .... so you can get the real sensibility of the film ... after the first test , you are ready to shoot a more precise in still before run in camera ...
POSITIVE IS VERY LOW COST emulsion ... cost almost nothing !!!
imagine than a 12.000 feets copy of 2 hours film cost 1000 US$ the copy for theatrical ! so ask them if after they can sale you a 2000 feets roll
and recan it ! perfect for video clñips , in a sunny day !

after this try Internegative .... a good 12 stops of latitude !!!

Thanks Olivier for the tip. I'm printing my home processed black and white negatives at Du-Art in New York City, will see if they have any short ends of hi-contrast print film.

Hi Dan , i have used for direct filming , the Old sound emulsion AGFA ST8 ,
it is the stock used to do Optical sound track ....

had 12 asa in tungsten ...... 16 asa in daylight ....
and have around 2 stops of tolerence between black and white .....
so all set was grey Art directed, and lighting was LOOOOOW contrast by 1/4 of stop .
but final result look Nosferatu ....

so generally Labs have shorts ends , who don t use , ask your lab for "intern use" shorts ends and do tests !

    Hey Rich,
Glad you joined the konvas group.
Just giving you a shout to see if you have any black and white, 35mm available in short or medium lengths. I'll even consider hi-con stock.
And, if you ever get daylight eyemo loads, please let me know.
Hope you have a great weekend.
    Dan
p.s. "russian cores" are film cores that the Konvas cameras use in the 200 ft. mags. They're much smaller than standard cores, which only allow you to load 160 ft. into the 200 ft. mags. Most Konvas users stay away from the 200 ft. mags, but would probably use them if there was a place that loaded film onto the russian cores.

The "or Less" part works for me. ;D We're trying to get into production and start principal photography by Dec. 31, before the end of the year for tax reasons. We're also still in the process of gathering up all the financing. How much advance notice would you need? Thanks-Steve

    When is your shoot?
We could probably get you 5260 and 5201 for 15 cents or less per foot.
    Thanks, Rich

How much per foot? I'm actually looking for a deal on 120K-maybe 90K of 5279 or 5260 if any is available and the rest in 5245. We'll be using 3 cameras, a Kinor Rotovision 35C, a 35PII and a Konvas-1 so we'll probably be able to use short ends, long ends and recans. Thanks.

Welcome to the list-- I took a quick look at your site, was wondering if you considered a "by lots" index, too. That would let someone who needed 100,000 ft of stock to look for the negative stocks you have available in the format, or to see if you had 25k of 250D and 69k of 320T for a project. I know I tend to shop in that manner, simply because if you are shooting "z'real ting" it helps to know what to think about in terms of speed and type before you even contact the seller.

    Enjoy it here.

    Sanity is optional.

Hi...I'm new to the list...not sure if this is proper etiquette, but I have a lot of inexpensive, current 35mm and 16mm film for sale. Lots of ends and recans cheap!
    Web site raw-stock.com

email with needs....international shipping for decent size orders via USPS or Fedex...but Fedex can be pricey.

    Thanks, Rich
