 I love the fact that the "fate" is not to be decided-- that's just stupid wording-- and that if you start checking things the way you set up the subjective factors will determine the winner.  If five hundred people are "asked to rate things" the HOW of how they are asked will frequently determine the winner.

Nikon to face Canon with a showdown to decide who makes the best digital  
still/movie camera. Decision will be judged by hundreds of  professionals 
from Europe who will take part in a 'shoot out' at the end of  the show.
 
700 stands with free use of models and studio time. 
 
Understand both Nikon and Canon have set up stands opposite each other.  
Hmm!  Should be good.
 
As you know they both have new models coming out soon.
