Inflight made front anamorphics for 16mm use, huge chunks of glass that had a three lug mount so they could be put onto a plate mounted in front of the camera, the focusing then done by the front unit. They work with 35mm, too, and should work with digital fine. The original Cinemascope is a "Frankenstein" rig, fitted to a stock Baltar AFTER the Baltar was on the camera.

The Soviets made several anamorphic lens attachments. But, the lenses were usually made for the attachment (and vice-versa). For instance, the Foton lens that Umut pointed out will easily work with the anamorphic lens attachment that was made for it - but other front attachments will not fit correctly.
Of course, this leads to thinking about building a "Frankenstein" rig:
